Decorative swan sculpture in silver-plated brass, with detailed plumage and movable wings, featuring a removable metal grille inside; about 30 cm long, 23 cm high and 12 cm wide, weighing 3.4 kg, made in Germany from brass that is silver-plated, showing patina and minor wear.
Description from the seller
Decorative swan made of silver-plated brass, intricately sculpted and with detailed feather decoration on the body, neck and wings.
Condition: Good used condition with signs of age-related wear. The silver plating shows wear in places and a naturally developed patina, causing parts of the warmer brass tone to become visible. The movable wings can be opened. Please note the photos as part of the condition description.
Age: Probably the second half of the 20th century.
Material: Brass, silver-plated; removable metal grid insert.
Origin: Not definitively identifiable. There is no manufacturer or origin mark. On the underside there is only the stamped number “7” and another punch or mark, which could not yet be clearly identified. Both marks are documented in the detail photos.
Size: approx. 30 cm in length. Height 23 cm and width 12 cm
Colors: Silver-colored with dark antique patina and partially translucent brass-colored base tone.
Particularly appealing is the openable construction: the two wings can be opened to the sides to reveal the interior of the swan body. Inside there is a removable metal grid insert. The object is likely to be used as a decorative vessel or table accessory.
The three-dimensional feather detailing, the curved neck, and the movable wings give the piece an exceptionally decorative effect.
