“Stop & Let Go” reinterpretates a portrait of female figure with classical inspiration through a pop, ironic, and deliberately irreverent language.

The figure keeps a composed and almost solemn expression, but is completely transformed by contemporary elements: a pink crown, astrological symbols, a moon, graphic signs, and above all a large amount of toilet paper rolls inserted into the scene as a central and surreal element.

The illuminated lettering “LET THAT SHIT GO” becomes the main message of the work: a direct, provocative phrase that is also liberating, inviting one to let go of what weighs you down, what is no longer needed, and what keeps taking up space in your life.

The new title, “Stop & Let Go,” introduces, however, a further nuance: before letting go, you must stop. Stop the cycle, interrupt the weight, put a brake on what continues to drag on.

Style and Composition:

The composition is built with a predominantly dark palette, dominated by grays, blacks, and neutral tones, decisively interrupted by the bright pink of the graphic interventions and LED light.

The classical face occupies the upper part of the scene, while the rolls of toilet paper accumulate in the central and lower part, creating a deliberately absurd contrast between elegance and everyday life.

“Stop & Let Go” started as an ironic reflection on the need to lighten oneself.

The work speaks of thoughts, situations, relationships, and habits that we often continue to drag around even when they have lost all usefulness. The toilet paper, a banal and everyday object, thus becomes a symbol of elimination, liberation, and reset.

The phrase, deliberately brutal and colloquial, fully breaks with the composure of the classical portrait. It is this contrast that gives the work its strength: an austere and almost regal figure carries a simple and universal message.

The pink crown ironically suggests a form of self-affirmation, while the graphic symbols surrounding the figure introduce references to identity, fortune, destiny, and personal transformation.

The most conceptual detail of the work, however, is the LED finale: the luminous line stops, does not continue beyond, does not close the path. This final stop strengthens the sense of the message: to truly let go of something, you must first decide to interrupt it. Stop. Close. End it.
