Description from the seller
Art Deco Thulin vase with multicolored dripped glaze – Model 74 – Belgium – circa 1930
Magnificent antique vase from the renowned Faïencerie de Thulin, an iconic example of Belgian Art Deco ceramic work during the interwar period.
The vase features the famous 'émaux coulés' (dripped glaze), where deep turquoise-green tones organically merge with brown and iridescent blue. The elegant form with a wavy rim is very characteristic of Thulin's artistic production in this era.
Specifications:
Maker: Faïencerie de Thulin (Belgium).
Model: 74 (marked on the base).
Technique: Multicolored dripped glaze / flambé.
Period: Art Deco, circa 1920-1935.
Height: 29 cm.
Condition:
The vase is in good vintage condition with a beautiful glaze. The vase’s lip and the visible portion of the body are completely intact. On the underside of the foot (the base ring) there are four flat chips. These are only visible when the vase is upside down and are not visible when the vase is displayed normally. There are also a few characteristic pinholes, inherent to the artisanal production process of Thulin.
A splendid collectible for Belgian ceramic enthusiasts. Very carefully packed and insured shipping.
