The photograph belongs to the project "Ice_Land" by artist and photographer Matteo Mezzanotte. The project investigates housing situations in the most extreme areas of Iceland.
In the photo, taken in 2018 and printed in 2019, the home of a family of shepherds is depicted, carved inside a lava cave. The project was exhibited in 2019 in Rome at the Corsetti Photographic Laboratory within the event "Mese della fotografia Roma" and in 2020 at the Bellini Museum in Florence.
What is for sale is the original of the exhibition, presented with a white passepartout of 50x60 cm and a thickness of 1 cm with a double triangle hanger for hanging. The signature is on the back of the passepartout.
It is a chemical print in a darkroom on Ilford Warmtone paper 50x60 cm and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist himself.
In addition to the original, the photograph has a limited edition of 3 prints, of which only 2 are still available.

Matteo Mezzanotte, independent photographer born and raised in Rome. He uses photography as a tool for observation and relationship, a way to approach people, places and stories that inhabit our time. His work develops through photographic projects, reportage and documentary experiences that explore themes related to identity, relationships and contemporary social contexts. A large part of his path stems from travel and encounters with different realities, in Italy and abroad, where photography becomes an opportunity to understand diverse cultures and communities. Over the years he has built a strong connection with Morocco, a territory he continues to frequent through workshops and on-site sessions dedicated to photography and direct experience of places. Parallel to this, he collaborates with associations, artists, galleries and cultural entities, telling events, exhibitions and artistic projects through a narrative and authorial gaze. Through Altamira APS he promotes cultural and artistic projects aimed at social impact, guiding ideas and visions from their birth to concrete realization. An important part of his journey is devoted to photographic education. He leads courses, workshops and individual programs aimed at both enthusiasts and professionals and has developed an hybrid training path that combines video lessons, online in-depth studies, video call meetings and practical in-person sessions. Experimentation is another central element of his research: he is currently developing a series of handmade cameras designed through a process that combines digital modeling, 3D printing and manual fabrication.
