Description
Élan du cœur is a contemporary abstract artwork in which the shape of the heart becomes the guiding thread of a composition that is at once sensitive, instinctive, and deeply expressive.
On a terracotta, ochre, copper, and sand-toned background, the heart is sketched with a free and spontaneous black gesture. At its center, a rich and generous material gathers touches of red, yellow, green, white, and pink, like an explosion of emotions, memories, and life.
The handling of the medium gives the surface great depth: the layers, impasto, traces and splashes of paint create a relief that reveals itself differently depending on the light.
This work speaks of feeling, momentum, vulnerability, and inner strength. The heart is not depicted realistically here: it becomes a symbol, almost a trace, leaving each viewer free to project their own story onto it.
A warm and singular piece, particularly suited to a bohemian, natural, or contemporary interior, where its earthy tones and graphic presence can become a true focal point.

A painter since 2010, Magali Avesque Vernhes develops an abstract universe where color, material, and emotion become a true language. Inspired by nature, sensations, and moments of life, she composes works where spontaneous gesture, textures, and chromatic harmonies invite each viewer to a free and personal interpretation.
Trained in oil and acrylic painting techniques, notably with the knife, she explores the depth of material and the expressive power of color.
Her works have been exhibited in France and internationally, notably in Barcelona and Paris. Her work has been recognized with a Merit Artistic Recognition awarded by Luxembourg Art Prize in 2023 and 2024. She is listed in the 2018 International Directory of Fine Arts.
