Description from the seller
Original work – Mixed media on marouflaged paper on a black background
Dimensions: 40 × 30 cm
Unique piece
Sold with an authenticity certificate from Galerie Xav' Art & Emotion
With this creation, LASVEGUIX continues his exploration of urban memory by transforming a simple torn fragment of a poster into a contemporary work of art.
At the heart of the composition appears a figure with soft, almost childlike forms, contrasting with the tears in the paper and the traces of time. The successive layers of matter, the vibrant colors, and the typographic vestiges evoking Le Corbusier create a subtle dialogue between architectural heritage, popular culture, and street art.
The black background highlights the fragment as a precious relic, inviting the eye to focus on every detail. The tears become a language, imperfections a visual strength. Nothing is added by chance: each layer tells a story, each trace bears witness to the passage of time.
This work sits within the tradition of contemporary Street Art, where the walls of the city become living archives.
"The walls speak.
They accumulate posters, messages, dreams, anger, and memories. Then time transforms them.
By tearing out a fragment, LASVEGUIX does not destroy the city: he reveals what it had hidden.
In this work, the past meets the present. Modern architecture dialogues with popular culture, while the layers of paper recount the thousands of lives that crossed this space.
Each tear becomes a scar, each color an emotion. The fragment is no longer simply a piece of poster: it becomes a memory to preserve.
LASVEGUIX is a French street art artist whose work directly draws on the aesthetics of torn posters from major metropolises. His universe rests on the idea that walls preserve the memory of the city.
Through his works, he isolates fragments of posters, typographies and colors to give them a new life. Between abstraction and figuration, he composes unique creations where the superposition of materials tells a different story to every gaze.
His work attracts collectors for its authenticity, its graphic strength and its ability to transform ephemeral elements into timeless works.
