Petrus Regout - Ginger jar - Baluster vase with lid - Earthenware

Beautiful large decorative pot (baluster vase) with lid, finished in Delft Blue on a cream background. The lid is crowned by a carved lion figure (foo-dog style) as a handle. The pot is richly decorated with chrysanthemum and peony motifs in medallions, framed by graceful scrolls, floral motifs and a diamond pattern.

Stamped on the bottom with the well-known sphinx logo of Petrus Regout, Maastricht ("Made in Holland"), with the addition "Delfts" — referring to the classic Delft Blue decorative style in which this Maastricht manufacture was produced.
