Feldpost Gefreiter Merkel, FPN 28794, LW Bau KP 12 X11, 1940–1942.
In 1940 this unit was stationed in Belgium, northern France, active in Poperinge, Raversijde (Ostend). Its task was the infrastructure of the airfields during the Battle of England. In 1940–1942 they went to the Eastern Front, Kalinovka. In 1943 the unit was split up and distributed among other units.
1940/41: 11 Feldpost letters with contents. 1942: 35 Feldpost letters, total 45 pieces.
Separately, 5 items, 3 postcards; Luftwaffe, later in 1945.
Feldpost Kriegsfeuerwerker Lehrgang – training for weapons systems specialist and bomb disposal.
Last card with photos, Easter 1942, 14 March.
