Niderviller Peint Main - Plate (8) - Earthenware - Hand-painted floral

Beautiful and colorful lot of 8 hand-painted French faience plates, executed with various floral decors and a lovely rooster motif. The plates have a white ground with characteristic pink/red edge decoration and vibrant accents in different colors.

Of the 8 plates, 4 specimens bear the mark “Niderviller – peint main”. Peint main means the decoration is hand-painted. 2 other plates carry a different mark and 2 plates are unmarked. For this reason the lot is offered as a collection of French faience, of which four plates can be attributed to Niderviller with certainty.

Condition:
Four plates are in a very nice, almost unused condition. They have never been used. One of them has only a small defect on the back, hardly noticeable.

The remaining four, somewhat deeper plates, are in used vintage condition and show appropriate signs of wear. One plate has damage in the plate itself, two have edge damage and one specimen has no damage.

A particularly decorative and atmospheric lot, appealing to lovers of French faience, Niderviller, hand-painted dinnerware and brocante/vintage interior decoration.
