AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Biography
Rob van Oosten (1963) began painting in his teenage years. By, among other things, copying the 'old masters' he discovered what oil paint could accomplish. However, his career did not go down the artistic path; he became a teacher. He continued painting as well. For many years these were still lifes with flowers, vegetables and fruit, but he noticed that he could not express his creativity sufficiently in them. That changed when he started adding sand to his work and began using tools such as spatulas and steel brushes. His work became rougher and increasingly moved toward abstraction. Rob finds his inspiration in life. That can be beautiful, but it also has many rough edges.
The works of Rob van Oosten have found their way into private collections in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France and Greece.
Recent selling exhibitions were at the ‘Tree Museum’ in Doorn and at ‘Castle Amerongen’.
