He recognized the talent of the footballer and founded the company “Maradona Producciones,” an enterprise that dealt with preserving and managing the player's image and his relationships with sponsors.
The first one-million-dollar contract Cyterszpiler managed to arrange for Diego was with soft-drink manufacturer Coca-Cola. In 1982 the relationship was short-lived and during his stay in Barcelona Maradona was also the face of McDonald’s. In 1984 “Pelusa” (as he was known) participated in an advertisement in which the fast-food chain was compared to the game “Pac-Man.”
