The Artist
Alex Frențoaei (1991, Romania) has been living in London for over ten years, a city that has become the main source of inspiration for his photographic work. Through an attentive and personal perspective, he seeks unusual viewpoints capable of transforming iconic places and everyday scenes into images with a strong narrative quality. His photographs invite the viewer to pause, observe and rediscover London from an unexpected perspective.
The artist says:
“I have walked across Millennium Bridge countless times. The South Bank walk is one of those places that truly captures the energy and beauty of London.
One day, I found myself searching for something different — a perspective I had never seen before. I wanted to photograph Millennium Bridge and the constant flow of people crossing it in a new way, going beyond the image we have all seen countless times.
From that point of view, this photograph was born. People move across two different levels, separated only by a bridge which, in the composition, almost disappears, leaving behind its shadow and the perspective lines. They share the same moment and the same urban space, yet their paths are destined never to cross.”
The title, Never Crossing, emerges from this double meaning. It refers to the act of crossing a bridge, while also suggesting something deeper: there are encounters that will never happen, lives that move in parallel without ever touching. It is an invitation to look beyond what the image initially reveals, because even the most photographed places can still offer something unexpected. Sometimes, all it takes is a different perspective.
