Hamilton - - B♭clarinet - United States - 1944

This B-flat metal instrument from the American house has been fully restored and is of the kind of power that comes from this top American brand. Brand: Hamilton. It has a small ding in the bell area (at the back) that’s been repaired, but if I don’t mention it, you’ll probably take a long time to spot it. Other than that, it’s impressive. It comes from the Elkart family of Indiana and is suggested by the type of bell/cup or short neck, like those with a thicker patina. This one, I insist, has superior power and, by the fold of the bell, I can’t tell it apart at a glance from my King Silver Sonic, honestly. As I mentioned, all the high-quality pads have been fitted and it’s been checked that the keys have good playability and optimal pressure, with no compromise. This is very important for its durability, both in adjustment and lifespan. Its case has taken a beating over the years. But as I always say, I might someday be interested in sanding and restoring cases, but for now I love restoring and adjusting and enjoying how the clarinets, saxophones, and flutes sit without a trace of leakage. It’s the fundamental way that when we blow into a wind instrument with our body, we feel like coming back to it again and again... that there’s no air leakage from our lungs. Another clarinet that can no longer be found new on the current market, and of the ones I send to this emblematic auction always in good used condition (restored) so that intelligent people know what they’re buying.
