Triptych - Wood - 1950-1960

Fascinating devotional table triptych in carved and gilded wood, a fine reproduction (printed images) of the famous work "The Woodworker's Triptych" (also known as the Altarpiece of the Guild of Carpenters) by the Flemish master Quinten Massys (Antwerp, 1466–1530). The work consists of three finely decorated panels: Central Panel: Depicts the dramatic and intense scene of the Lamentation over the Dead Christ (Deposition), with the three crosses visible on Calvary in the background. Side Panels: Scenes from the life and martyrdom of Saint John the Baptist (Herod's banquet and the beheading).
