Description from the seller
Beautiful Silver Pocket Watch 0.800 GALONNÉ – Serviced and in Working Order! Antique, circa 1900
Item Description:
For sale is a unique, mechanically functional antique pocket watch from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. This piece was manufactured in Switzerland for the German market, as confirmed by the original state hallmarks (Swiss capercaillie and German crown and crescent).
The watch has been serviced by a watchmaker and is in working order. The daily timekeeping difference is approximately 2 minutes. The crystal has also been replaced with a brand new one, ensuring the dial is perfectly visible and protected.
Technical Specifications and Condition:
Movement: Classic Swiss Remontoir-class cylinder movement (winding from the crown, without a key) Cylindre 10 Rubis (mounted on 10 jewels). It runs smoothly and flawlessly.
Case: Crafted from 0.800 sterling silver. All case backs have matching serial numbers (56413), guaranteeing 100% authenticity. The inner protective cover (curtain) is signed "Metal."
Case Decoration: Crafted using the luxurious Galonné technique – the edges and rims are plated with original rose gold, which remains in excellent condition. The outer case back features a deep, distinctive floral engraving with a clean cartouche (space for a personalized monogram). Dial: Porcelain, with Roman numerals and a secondary seconds subdial at 6 o'clock. Surrounded by a beautiful, factory-made, hand-painted floral wreath with gilt accents. The hands are gilded in the Louis XV style. Dial Condition: The dial has a smooth enamel loss visible in the photos, around 7 and 8 o'clock (exposed primer). Apart from this one spot, the porcelain is stable, clean, and free of any spiderwebs or hairline cracks. The watch presents an exceptionally elegant and dignified appearance. Due to its recent service, it makes a perfect gift or a perfect, technically functional piece for a private collection. This is a private sale, and I do not accept returns. The photos are an integral part of the listing and represent the current condition of the watch. Please check out my other listings.
