This oil painting on canvas, executed with stunning realism, captures an underwater portrait of a young woman surrounded by two large koi fish. Her face, with dark hair and red lips, emerges from the deep turquoise water, wonderfully warped and distorted by the refraction of light and the ripples on the surface, creating patterns of light and shadow on her skin and a serene expression. On either side of her, two koi fish in orange, white and black swim symmetrically, their detailed scales gleaming through the water and adding a touch of grace and organic movement to the composition.
