An elegant and imposing Chinese porcelain vase, standing 35 cm high, beautifully hand-painted with blooming multicolored chrysanthemums in delicate famille rose enamels on a white glazed ground.
One side is decorated with an inscription inspired by the poem “Wild Chrysanthemum” (野菊) by the famous Tang Dynasty poet Li Shangyin, with several characters adapted by the artist, a practice commonly found among Republic-period porcelain painters.
The underside bears the red seal mark 羅惠昌製 (“Made by Luo Huichang”). Luo Huichang (羅惠昌) is recognized as a porcelain painter active in Jingdezhen during the Republic of China period (1912–1949).
The refined brushwork, elegant calligraphy, balanced proportions and subtle enamel shading are characteristic of high-quality Republic-period literati porcelain.
Condition
Very good overall condition.
No visible restorations.
Minor age-related wear and small kiln imperfections consistent with traditional firing techniques.
