AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Oil on canvas, 60 × 60 cm. Painting title “Wrapped Intimacy”, signed bottom left. Sold directly by the artist with the frame.

Wrapped Intimacy
Suggests the idea of something personal and private. I refer to the fact that despite the nudity, the human figure is wrapped or covered by a layer of bubble wrap, which adds an element of mystery or protection to the scene.

Biographical Extract
Francesco Stile was born in Naples in 1965, into a family tied to the Neapolitan painting tradition. His mother and, in particular, his grandfather, landscape painters, represent the first reference of a training deeply rooted in Italian figurative culture.
At thirteen he begins to attend the atelier of portraitist Carlo Roberto La Volpe, where he acquires solid technical training, deepening drawing, oil painting, the study of light and the figure. Subsequently he opens his own studio and dedicates himself to Art forgeries, concentrating his research on Seicento painting and the Caravaggesque tradition.
In 1997, the discovery of contemporary hyperrealism marks a decisive turning point in his path. Since then he develops a research focused on hyperrealistic still life in oil on canvas, characterized by a rigorous attention to light, matter, surfaces and detail.
Over time, technical precision becomes, for Stile, a tool in service of a broader research. The everyday object is removed from its simple descriptive function and transformed into a metaphor of contemporary reality. From this evolution arises his personal concept of “conceptual hyperrealism,” in which fidelity to the real coexists with a symbolic and narrative dimension.
Over the years his artistic activity has been accompanied by various recognitions and awards, culminating in 2025 with participation in the London Art Biennale, where he presents Prospettiva, a work dedicated to the theme of migrations. For this work he receives the Chianciano Art Museum Award / Arts Club Chianciano Award, the latest recognition in a path studded with important attestations in the contemporary painting scene.
Francesco Stile’s research today unfolds in dialogue between tradition and modernity, between technical rigor and thought, using painting as a tool to transform fragments of everyday life into images capable of challenging the viewer.
