AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Art Nouveau / Jugendstil decorative glass panel with irises in a wooden frame – ca. 1900-1925 – 80 × 50 cm

Description
A particularly decorative glass panel in Art Nouveau/Jugendstil style, executed with a graceful floral depiction of blooming irises.

The flowers and leaves are rendered in warm tones of yellow, orange, cream and green against a gold/amber-colored, lightly transparent background. The strong black contour lines and geometric division give the piece the characteristic graphic look of the Jugendstil period.

The panel is housed in a handsome dark-wood profiled frame. Notably, the architecturally shaped corners with round rosette ornaments, which nicely complement the glass design.

The decoration shows clear signs of manual craftsmanship; in the close-up photos nuances and brush textures in the flowers and leaves are clearly visible.

Dating: presumably early 20th century, ca. 1900-1925

Style: Art Nouveau / Jugendstil
Subject: irises / floral decoration
Material: decorated glass and wood

Dimensions: ca. 80 × 50 cm including frame
Condition: good decorative condition considering the probable age, with normal signs of use and aging and locally some loss/damage of the decoration.

See the detail photos for a good impression.

A very atmospheric architectural decorative piece that, as a wall object, interior window, or translucent panel, comes into its own especially well.
