Imagined South
"Imagined South" is a diptych that brings together landscape, architecture, and figure within a single poetic vision. The two pieces dialogue with each other like fragments of a territory built from memory, color, and imagination, rather than from a literal representation of a concrete place.
In one of the works, architecture becomes the protagonist: houses, towers, and vegetation are arranged through geometric planes that evoke a Mediterranean landscape reinterpreted from Cubism. In the other, human presence and the guitar introduce a more intimate and musical dimension, establishing a bridge between space, identity, and emotion.
The palette of deep blues, earth tones, greens, and warm hues creates continuity between the two compositions. Although each piece preserves its autonomy, together they develop a common narrative in which the south appears as an idea: a place of light, memory, encounter, and rhythm.
The title "Imagined South" alludes precisely to that symbolic construction. It does not speak of an exact geography, but of an inner south, formed by memories, architecture, music, and sensations.
The diptych thus proposes its own territory, suspended between reality and evocation, where landscape and figure unite to build a contemporary and personal vision of the Mediterranean.
