Atmospheric maritime painting by the Belgian painter Louis Artan de Saint-Martin (1837–1890). A characteristic seascape with a turbulent, dark sea, a few fishing boats on the horizon and an impressive, clouded sky. The subdued blue, gray and earth tones enhance the atmospheric quality of the work.
