Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Oil lamp from 1850–1900, made of uranium glass (ouraline) in France, with a pressed glass body, decorative geometric motifs and facets, measuring 52.5 cm high by 15 cm wide, in excellent condition and in working order, with a metal burner, removable glass chimney and a pale yellow‑green glass tint visible in natural light and green fluorescence under UV light.
Description from the seller
Elegant antique oil lamp composed of a reservoir and a foot in pressed glass, richly decorated with geometric motifs, facets and fluting. The shape of the reservoir is particularly worked, with a rounded body resting on a column-shaped foot and a wide circular base also ornamented.
The glass displays a beautiful pale yellow-green tint in natural light and reveals bright green fluorescence under ultraviolet light, confirming the presence of uranium in the glass and its ouraline character.
The lamp is equipped with its old metal burner, with its adjustment knob and decorative gallery. The glass chimney in clear glass is present and removable, as visible in the photographs.
The relief decoration and the various facets of the glass particularly catch the light and give this lamp a very decorative appearance.
Condition: good overall condition considering its age, with some signs of use and small marks linked to age. The photographs are an integral part of the description and allow precise assessment of its condition.
Special feature: ouraline glass, with spectacular green fluorescence under UV
