Le petit ramoneur Savoyard, a pencil drawing by Henry Somm (1844–1907) from 19th‑century France, 45 × 36 cm, with a carved giltwood frame from the 19th century; signed by hand with a manuscript dedication, in excellent condition.

Henry SOMM (1844-1907) Drawing The little Savoyard chimney sweep
This drawing is by Henry Somm (pseudonym of François-Clément Sommier, 1844–1907), a French 19th-century illustrator, engraver and caricaturist close to the Impressionists.
We can see his characteristic signature "Henry Somm" above the figure (on the right), as well as a handwritten dedication at the bottom right (“to my friend... Henry Somm”).
The subject depicted is a little Savoyard chimney sweep carrying his brushes and a hedgehog-shaped chimney-sweeping tool, a motif very popular in 19th-century art and caricature.
Dimensions 45 x 36 with the frame
We are enclosing a carved wooden frame in gilded stucco from the 19th century
Provenance: - Private Parisian collection
