Rare Bizen Hidasuki guinomi by late Japanese ceramic artist Kimura Ichiyo, produced at Ichiyo Kiln in Japan, ceramic with reddish‑orange Hidasuki markings produced by firing, 4.4 cm high and 6 cm wide, dated 1980–1990, in as new, unused condition.
Description from the seller
A rare and highly collectible Bizen Hidasuki guinomi by the late Japanese ceramic artist Kimura Ichiyo, produced at Ichiyo Kiln. The cup displays the distinctive reddish-orange Hidasuki “fire-cord” markings for which Bizen ware is especially admired, created naturally during firing rather than through applied decoration. Its warm earthy surface, restrained form and traditional kiln character give the piece a strong sense of Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetics.
As Kimura Ichiyo is no longer active, surviving works—especially examples preserved with their original signed wooden tomobako—have become increasingly precious to collectors. Combining the reputation of the artist, traditional Bizen firing techniques and its original presentation, this is a particularly desirable piece of Japanese ceramic art with both artistic and collectible value.
The package will be well protected during transit.
