Description from the seller
J for Jeff Koons — The Artphabet
Edition 5/10 — 60 x 60 cm
This work is part of The Artphabet, an artistic project developed by the digital artist Cess, in which each letter of the alphabet pays homage to key figures in contemporary art and visual culture.
In this piece, the letter J is transformed into a tribute to Jeff Koons, reinterpreting his iconic sculptural language based on polished surfaces, industrial materials, and references to popular imagination. The typography adopts the appearance of an inflated object, evoking his famous balloon sculptures reimagined on a large scale.
The form features a bright, reflective finish, simulating a lacquered metallic material that captures and distorts light, generating a sense of luxury, lightness, and technical precision. The inclusion of a characteristic knot reinforces the direct reference to Koons’s universe, where the banal and the festive are elevated to the realm of art.
The composition rests on a minimalist base that enhances its character as an exhibition object, placing the piece in a context between contemporary sculpture and high-end design. The formal simplicity contrasts with the material complexity, creating a visually striking and recognizable work.
The work has been created through a completely digital 3D process (CGI), handcrafted with particular attention to curvature, surface tension, and the behavior of light on reflective materials, achieving a hyperrealistic aesthetic with high precision.
The Artphabet has achieved wide international impact, being spread across numerous design, art, and visual culture media, establishing itself as one of the most prominent artistic typography projects in the recent digital field.
Cess is an artist specialized in digital art, CGI, and artificial intelligence, with an established track record in the creative sector, having collaborated with international brands such as Apple, Google, Prada, Vogue, and MTV, among others.
The work is presented in high-quality Giclée print on polycotton canvas, ensuring excellent reproduction of detail, brightness, and the volume of the original digital file.
