Tilting desk mirror in Rococo style / Louis XV – Fusion of heavy brass with decorations of putti – /Italy, first half of the 20th century
:Splendid and elegant orientable table mirror (psyche) in full Rococo style (Louis XV), dating to the first half of the twentieth century. The piece is made in a magnificent and heavy casting of solid brass. The frame stands out for its great solidity and considerable weight, features that attest to the excellent craftsmanship of the era. The rich oval frame is finely decorated with rocaille motifs featuring vegetal and marine scrolls. Of great visual impact are the three putti (cherubs) finely chiseled in high relief: two reclining on the sides and one central at the base of the mirror. The top is crowned by the classic asymmetrical shell typical of the style.
