A compulsive and spontaneous creator, Bruno Cantais lives in Lyon; he explores several techniques, ranging from abstract expressionism to Rauschenberg or De Kooning, to matter projections à la Georges Mathieu, to Pop Art collage, or to the expressionism of Karel Appel, which straddles the boundary between abstract gesture and figurative representation. But his signature remains this physical painting, the material worked by the body, a testimony to the artist's intimate monologue.
