Description from the seller
This striking original lithograph by Bo Örn presents an abstract, dreamlike composition of geometric forms floating within a deep blue, atmospheric space. The softly graduated light, large angular shapes and small celestial-like forms create a sense of depth and mystery. The combination of precise geometry and organic, almost cosmic forms is characteristic of Örn’s imaginative visual language.
Bo Örn (born 1949) is a Finnish-Swedish painter, draughtsman and graphic artist, born near Vaasa, Finland, and raised in Sweden. He studied graphic art in Germany and painting under Lars Sjöström, and has been working professionally as an artist since 1974.
Örn is particularly associated with what has been described as “cosmorealism” — a stylised, visionary approach combining dramatic spatial perspectives, geometric forms and imagined worlds. Light plays an important role in his work, often achieved through thin layers of colour and soft transitions. As a graphic artist, he has worked with lithography, woodcut and linocut.
