With The New End Boss, SKE reinterprets the universe of the cult video game by propelling it into a pop, street art, and deliciously contemporary reading.

Here, Mario no longer faces Bowser, carnivorous plants, or red shells: the real final boss now seems to be elsewhere. Behind Peach, turned into an elegant silhouette, almost untouchable, Mario walks carrying bags from the great luxury maisons. Louis Vuitton, Dior, Rolex and other nods to iconic brands replace coins, mushrooms, and bonuses from the original game. The quest is no longer just to rescue the princess: you now have to survive the next level of desire, shopping, and prestige.

The work humorously plays with the new symbols of power of our time. Luxury bags become trophies, gold coins escape as in a bonus level, and Mario, the quintessential popular hero, is transformed into the official bearer of the kingdom of consumption.

The slogan “The New End Boss,” painted like a stencil on a bare wall, gives the scene its strong satirical force. SKE lightly questions our relationship to brands, social status, and image, while preserving an immediate, accessible, and very pop visual energy.

Between homage to gaming culture, nod to the Nintendo universe, subversion of luxury codes, and street art aesthetics, The New End Boss stands out as a funny, biting work that is perfectly in step with the times. A piece that reminds us that today, the final boss may no longer have a castle: he wears heels, loves iconic bags… and costs far more than an extra life.

- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and all-rounder who grew up in the culture of the 80s/90s, inspiring a large majority of his artistic works.

He constantly explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stencil, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic, expressive compositions, often with a double reading, fuse the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.

After an exceptional 2025, SKE’s value has risen notably. Winner of the first prize in the Urban Master competition (2023), then elected Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October, and also featured in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition.

His works have already been shown in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, consolidating his place in the contemporary art scene. At the same time, SKE has also made a mark in the digital art market, a major trend in the last two years, increasing the appeal of his creations to collectors.

Icons of popular culture, bold graphics, and textured play characterize a style now essential.

SKE is undoubtedly an artist to watch, to start or enrich a collection with rising value.

Established & Awarded Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art

A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY SKE’s work sits in a prestigious lineage. His line shows the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or pioneer Blek le Rat. His works build a bridge between eras: they revisit the classics, not hesitating to détourne Mona Lisa by Vinci, Girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer, The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai, or the deconstructed forms of Picasso to confront them with a modern urban aesthetic close to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.

POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing from the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons of our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics, and graphic novels is omnipresent: from the Nintendo universe and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokémon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), and the Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.

LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style sometimes recalling Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The dollar symbol sits beside luxury and fashion logos. His canvases capture the aesthetic of “Hype”: you’ll encounter sneaker culture (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also includes automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass-consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It’s vibrant art with textured finishes evoking the glossy surface of Jeff Koons or the facets of Richard Orlinski.

This work is ideal to enrich a collection or bring a dynamic touch to your interior.
