Description from the seller
“Cowboy of Contemporary” – Limited Edition (100 copies) - New Collection 2026
Edition number: 06/100
Artist: SKE
Publisher: Atelier Montmartre Paris
Fine art paper 300 g – ISO A3 size – Signed, numbered – Certificate included
With Cowboy of Contemporary, SKE orchestrates a masterful collision between the mythical West and the history of modern art.
Lucky Luke, timeless figure of Franco-Belgian comics, becomes here a tightrope walker of the art market, juggling icons of street and contemporary pop art. Basquiat, KAWS, Haring, Warhol… so many symbols revisited in a moving composition, where the lone cowboy no longer draws his revolver, but handles cultural codes with ironical precision.
The work plays on the tension between popular culture and institutionalized art. The textured, almost urban background evokes both the wall of a contemporary gallery and a New York street. Splashes and circular strokes reinforce the idea of shifting trends, of speculation, of the artistic cycle.
SKE reinterprets the image of the hero quick as lightning to become the master of an artistic rodeo where icons become objects of circulation, desire and power.
A strong piece, both playful and critical, aimed at seasoned collectors sensitive to the dialogues between comics, street art and international contemporary art.

- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught and versatile French artist who grew up in the 80s/90s culture, informing a large majority of his artistic works.
He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with double meanings, fuse the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s market value has risen notably. Winner of the first prize at the Urban Master competition (2023), then named Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025). SKE was selected as “Artist of the Month” by the Opulence gallery in October, and he also benefited from a feature in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited at major venues in Europe, the United States and Asia, consolidating his place on the contemporary art scene. In parallel, SKE also asserts himself in the digital art market, a major trend of the last two years, reinforcing the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics and texture play define a style that is now essential.
SKE is without a doubt an artist to watch, to start or enrich a collection with rising value.
Awarded Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art
A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY SKE’s work sits in a prestigious lineage. His line work carries the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works create a bridge between eras: they revisit the classics, not hesitating to reinterpret Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, Girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer, The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms, to confront them with a modern urban aesthetic akin to Mr. Brainwash or Kaws.
POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey Mouse or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics and superheroes is omnipresent: from Nintendo’s universe and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokemon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), and the Marvel heroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.
LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style that sometimes recalls Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits alongside luxury and fashion logos. His canvases capture the “Hype” aesthetic: sneaker culture (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin) appear. He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It’s vibrant art, with textured finishes evoking the glossy surface of a Jeff Koons or the facets of a Richard Orlinski.
This work is ideal for enriching a collection or bringing a dynamic touch to your interior.
