Description from the seller
Vintage ornamental sculpture in gilded porcelain, attributed to the renowned Italian sculptor and ceramist Giuseppe Cappé, known for his delicate figures in porcelain and ceramic. This Mid-Century style piece dates from the period between 1960 and 1969.
The central body "del vaso" presents a gold finish with a white raised floral medallion. On the sides are applied two cherub heads, while the top is crowned by a figurative sculpture with winged cherubs in white porcelain. The base unmistakably confirms the object's authenticity and origin: it bears the original mark impressed in the paste of Giuseppe Cappé, accompanied by the production numeric code and the retailer's sticker from the era. The number etched 1963 indicates the code of the specific Cappé catalog model (and not the year of manufacture, although it perfectly coincides with the production period of the 1960s).
Good condition with normal signs of wear over time; note a small loss of petals in the central floral medallion.
The height is about 37 cm with a weight of about 700 g.
