Decorative Chinese wooden chest with dark brown wood and multicoloured mother-of-pearl shell inlay, in an antique style dating to the 1950s–1960s, measuring approximately 50 cm wide, 16 cm high and 17 cm deep.

Decorative Chinese wooden storage chest featuring elaborate mother-of-pearl shell inlay and traditional auspicious motifs.
The chest is decorated with a representation inspired by the Eight Immortals, an important group of figures in traditional Chinese mythology associated with longevity, prosperity and good fortune. The dark wooden surface provides a striking contrast to the colourful shell inlays.
The front is embellished with stylised cloud motifs and traditional decorative elements, complemented by a circular metal fitting in the centre. Additional decoration continues across the lid, creating an attractive ornamental composition.
According to the original seller, the chest is made from Lao Tan wood and decorated using shell inlay techniques. It has a substantial construction and weighs approximately 2.68 kg.
