Description from the seller
“Wonderland in Balloons” is a contemporary pop work by Diletta Carrito, inspired by the fantastic and surreal universe of Alice in Wonderland.
The composition develops through three large balloons on a black background, each conceived as a small independent world. The White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat emerge within settings rich in details, symbols and references to the tale: playing cards, clocks, keys, teacups, colors and geometries.
The contrast between the deep black background and the extremely vibrant palette — blue, pink, yellow, purple, green and orange — makes the three balloons the absolute protagonists of the canvas and gives the work a strong visual impact.
The painting is characterized by flat fields, graphic outlines and numerous hand-made details, elements typical of the pop and naïf language of the artist. Small irregularities and variations in the sign testify to manual execution and make each element unique.
The work combines irony, nostalgia and childlike imagination, transforming them into a contemporary, decorative and immediately recognizable composition.
