Le Yack - Now, Voyager - Hand signed

On the teak deck of an ocean liner slicing through a deep-blue sea, a woman with 1930s-angled waves flips toward the viewer, the satin white backless gown with a slit billowing in the wind. Behind her, the red-and-black bandeau smokestack, the sun loungers, a coil of rope, the froth wake, and seagulls circling in the summer sky. Semiotically, the scene embodies the glamour of great transatlantic crossings between the wars: the flowing dress in the wind, the mythical liner, the pull toward elsewhere. The satin white of the dress concentrates light on the blues of sea and sky. A smooth, polished finish, with meticulous sea spray and wake, capturing an Art Deco illustrative spirit.

Le Yack, emerging French pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) in Orléans. He is the art director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is exhibited within a network of about forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, and the United States.
