Description from the seller

Large Moroccan Judaica brass tray with 39 Hamsa motifs and Hebrew inscription "Shaddai" – hand-engraved, ca. 1900–1940

For sale is an exceptionally large Moroccan Judaica brass tray with a diameter of about 57 cm, dated to circa 1900–1940. The tray is completely decorated with finely executed hand-engraved and hand-chiseled geometric and floral ornaments.

Particularly notable are exactly 39 identical Hamsa motifs that recur regularly around the tray. In the decorative sections, the Hebrew inscription שדי (Shaddai) appears multiple times, a traditional name of God in the Jewish context, meaning roughly “the Almighty.”

The careful, regular execution of the engravings testifies to the high craftsmanship of traditional Moroccan metalwork. The reverse side shows natural age-related patina with reddish-brown and greenish corrosion traces, giving the piece an authentic historical character.
