Boch La Louvière – Pair of Large “Arbre Chinois” Handworked Lidded Vases – Belgium
Description
Elegant and highly decorative pair of large vintage ceramic lidded vases by Boch La Louvière, Belgium, decorated in the beautiful “Arbre Chinois” pattern.
The decoration features richly detailed flowering branches, peonies, butterflies and foliage in warm burgundy-red, green, ochre and turquoise tones on an ivory ground, creating a refined chinoiserie-inspired appearance.
The two vases have different but complementary shapes:
One large rounded ginger jar with domed lid and spherical finial.
One baluster-shaped vase with a distinctive figural animal finial, giving the piece a particularly unusual and decorative character.
The underside is clearly marked:

The decoration continues around the entire bodies, making both pieces attractive from every angle.

Both pieces retain their matching lids.
