Le Yack - Death on the Nile - Hand signed

On the wooden deck of a felucca with its large white sail billowing, a brunette woman with neatly waved hair, dating from the 1930s, stands with one hand on the mast, her gaze turned toward the shore. Beyond the turquoise water, a pharaonic temple, palm trees, and desert hills rise up. Ethnic-patterned cushions adorn the deck. Semiotically, the scene embodies the glamour of Oriental cruises of the interwar period: flowing silk, the age-old felucca, ancient ruins — travel as a theater of elegance. The coral of the dress erupts like a single flame against the blues of water and sky and the ochers of the shore. A smooth, refined finish, straightforward sunlight, an essence of Art Deco illustration.

Le Yack, emerging French pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) in Orléans. He is a creative director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45.
