Le Yack - The Second Sex - Hand signed

On the terrace of the Café de Flore, two women from different generations: in the foreground, a young brunette with a loose bun, in a white suit, legs crossed, a newspaper resting on her knees, gazing lost in reverie; behind her, an older woman with gray hair, in a floral dress, attentively reading Le Figaro, a carafe and a glass of water on the marble side table. Semiotically, the painting juxtaposes two ages and two attitudes — daydreaming and reading, a pensive youth and attentive maturity — united in the ritual of the Parisian café. The range of whites, muted greens, and glassy blues, under a subdued light, creates an atmosphere of intimate realism inherited from Hopper. Flexible facture, restrained impasto, urban silence.

Le Yack, emerging French pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies he joined the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) in Orléans. He is art director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is exhibited within a network of about forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, the United States.
