Large and heavy ceramic pitcher or jug from the Gien pottery, Les 3 Tours
The polychrome decoration is hand-painted with an extensive floral repertoire: peonies, chrysanthemums, foliage and branches.
Tones of cobalt blue, burgundy red, ochre yellow, green and brown.
The neck and base feature blue ornamentation with Renaissance-inspired volutes.
Excellent condition; note that the handle has been reattached.
