Description from the seller
INVADER – CAMOUFLAGE
Silkscreen on Somerset Satin Cotton paper – Aluminum framing
Invader is today one of the major figures in international Street Art. A French artist emblematic of contemporary urban culture, he has, since the 1990s, developed a instantly recognizable universe around pixelated characters inspired notably by 1970s and 1980s video games, such as Space Invaders and Pac-Man.
His famous mosaics have gradually invaded urban space worldwide, turning his work into a genuine artistic project on an international scale. Invader also explores other techniques, notably Rubikcubism, in which he uses Rubik’s Cubes to compose pixelated images.
CAMOUFLAGE Series
Started in 2023, the Camouflage series transposes the famous Space Invader into a graphic universe inspired by camouflage patterns.
Invader plays with perception here: the emblematic character reveals itself or disappears depending on the colors, contrasts and composition. Sometimes immediately identifiable, sometimes almost completely absorbed by the motif, the Invader seems to blend into its environment.
This approach directly echoes the artist’s historical démarche: concealing his mosaics in the urban landscape, like little invaders integrated into the architecture of cities.
The Camouflage series consists of 21 editions, produced as silkscreen on Somerset Satin Cotton paper and offered in different formats: S, M, L and XL.
Each work benefits from an aluminum frame, highlighting the graphic precision, colors and contemporary aesthetic of the composition.
