Tournay 19e - E. DUC - Plate - Earthenware

Beautiful and rare antique 19th-century plate from the factory in Tournay (Tournai/Doornik), signed by the artist E. DUC.
The plate is completely hand-painted.
The scene on the plate shows a loving couple in a castle garden; the man plays a lute and the woman holds a fixed fan.
The image and the edge, garlands of roses, are rendered in pink monochrome with some green.
On the back the plate is marked with 'Tournay' and 1740.
The condition is perfect.
This is a very rare and valuable faience plate.
