European school (XX) - Paisaje rustico

Oil on canvas, with a short, very marked brushstroke and fairly thick impasto. It represents an Alpine valley, with a nucleus of houses, a church, a path, and mountains covered with conifers. In terms of style and also because of the frame, I would provisionaly place it in the first third or first half of the 20th century, approximately 1910–1950.

It has traits of Central European/Alpine painting — Austria, southern Germany, Switzerland or northern Italy — more than of Spanish landscape. The brushwork shows some Post-Impressionist influence.
The frame has no defects; it is a gift.
