Description from the seller
An Art Deco amethyst pressed glass two-piece centerpiece bowl (featuring a separate bowl and a detachable base). Originally designed in the 1930s and crafted in the famous Josef Inwald glassworks (Czechoslovakia), this heavy, pressed-glass centerpiece features a distinctive scalloped, optical-ribbed pattern that catches and refracts light beautifully. The color is a breathtaking, deep imperial amethyst purple, balancing a nearly black, solid-appearing pedestal base with vibrant, glowing magenta tones through the translucent fluted bowl.
Excellent vintage condition: No chips or deep scratches. Both the bowl and the base feature minor authentic manufacturing marks typical of moulded glass from the 1930s, caused by the cooling of the glass. There are also a few minor scratches inside the bowl – see the last 4 photos.
