This striking monochrome bundle of two artworks pays tribute to Ghost in the Shell, one of the defining works of Japanese cyberpunk, and its iconic protagonist, Major Motoko Kusanagi.

Inspired by vintage Japanese science-fiction magazines, cybernetic diagrams and underground manga, the bundle reimagines the world of Section 9 through cybernetic anatomy, surveillance imagery, mechanical structures and bold Japanese typography.

Themes of identity, artificial intelligence, memory and the boundary between human and machine run throughout both artworks. Halftones, screentones, engraved details and distressed printing textures give the works the character of rare underground cyberpunk publications from an alternative future.

Together, the two individually numbered artworks create a cohesive collector bundle for enthusiasts of Ghost in the Shell, Japanese manga, cyberpunk and science-fiction culture.

Artist and designer Æ (Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Design and Multimedia Technologies, Barcelona, 2004; Bachelor’s Degree in East Asian Studies) has developed a distinctive artistic language inspired by Japanese visual culture, minimalism, conceptual art, vintage manga and graphic design. His works are held in private collections in more than 30 countries, including The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Æ’s artworks are recognised for their restrained monochrome palette, bold contrasts and carefully balanced compositions. By combining minimalist forms with intricate engraved textures, symbolic imagery and references to Japanese visual culture, he creates emotionally evocative works that blur the boundaries between traditional printmaking, contemporary illustration and pop culture.
