In this work Sergio Zampieri revisits the Homeric myth of the sirens, transforming it into a suspended vision between seduction, mystery and the power of nature. The three figures emerge like apparitions from a deep sea, while the golden light crossing the sky gives the scene a almost sacred and timeless dimension.
Particularly evocative is the contrast between the depth of marine blues and the tactile luminosity of the background, obtained through metallic acrylic pastes in tones of gold, bronze, copper and pearl white. A living surface, destined to change with the tilt of the light and with the point of observation, making the work even more engaging in person.
“The Song of the Sirens” thus becomes a contemporary homage to Homer’s Odyssey and to the universal strength of its imagination, today once again at the center of international attention also thanks to Christopher Nolan’s cinematic reinterpretation. A work in which ancient myth and contemporary sensibility meet, restituting intact the eternal and irresistible charm of the call of the sirens.
