Water is the primal element, the dominant theme, the ultimate source of life, the medium to entrust the transport of dreams, desires and the most secret pulsions. Here the world of the human emerges from the threads of a strong, exuberant physicality; with the study of the figure immersed in water, the Collection is born, perceived with an undefined touch but one that points to its definition in the passing time, among people, under the sun, in the reflection of the water.

The artist Lucia Mignosa, alias Luminisa,

during the classical studies imposed by the 1960s, thanks to the whimsical teachings of a history of art professor, I knew and fell in love with that colorful world of beauty to which I remained faithful and fascinated for life. But only subsequently, when I casually found a creative magazine of the era in my hands, lived like a window into the artistic world, following their guidance, I began to create objects to admire, spanning from art, to fashion, to objects, in a perpetual search and attempt to express with art enthusiasm and joy as a hymn to life. The explosion of pleasure in creating, experimenting, seeking with perseverance the maximum expression of beauty, pushed me, despite family and work commitments and the difficulties that the seventies promised a woman, to attend the studies of renowned Sicilian masters of the era, to learn as much technique and experience as possible, never losing that single weekly appointment that made me travel 70 km to reach it. And it is by letting myself be inspired and carried by their excellence, that I sharpen my views and perfect the technique, reaching my expressive splendor in Luminisa, my artist name, a life dedicated to the playful world of cheerfulness, freshness and luminosity that is realized in the ultimate representation of games in water and bodies suspended in time in a playful prelude to cheerfulness. A sensitivity that today I express in painting, sculpture and etchings, which have a very precise purpose: to translate into wide visions of play and into moments of meditation and ecstasy a significant reality that has always dwelt in me. Strong, bright tones, gymnastic apparatus, rings in the water, promote the concept of my emotions, bearers of a playful, artistic complicity of my eternal calm mood.
