Description from the seller

Tableware set produced in the 1960s or 1970s by the C.P. manufactory of Faenza in Ironstone (a type of strong, durable earthenware).

The service is decorated with a romantic scene in white and blue tones, in the style of English ceramics.
Characterized by a refined ornamental decoration in sage green and gray tones, inspired by motifs of classical and Oriental taste.

The decorative composition is particularly rich and intricate: at the center of the plate unfolds a refined circular medallion, formed by geometric, floral motifs and arabesques arranged in concentric ornamental bands. Around it, a succession of volutes, small flowers, leaves and stylized motifs creates an elegant effect of great balance.

The service is thus composed:
5 flat plates
5 deep plates

Faenza ceramics have been famous since the High Middle Ages for their extraordinary quality and capacity to innovate. In the Italian postwar period many new manufactories arise in the Faenza area to offer new products for Italians’ tables. They are mainly manufactories without industrial production and that last only a few years. In fact, competing and historic industries such as the Richard Ginori manufactory and SCI Laveno will conquer the entire market.

Seller's Story

My name is Riccardo. I recently graduated in Art History from the University of Florence and I am passionate about porcelain. From tableware to artistic vases, from figurines to tea and coffee sets, I am fascinated by the mastery and creativity of great artisans and designers who manage to shape this fragile material, transforming a rough mass into masterpieces with a story to tell. During my years at university I began to become interested in the history of nineteenth- and twentieth-century tableware; today, every day, I deal with prestigious porcelain pieces that always have something to say to me and to those who purchase them. I love that every day I can discover more about the objects I find while traveling around Italy, always learning something new. I always try to convey to my clients this passion I have for the objects I sell, certain that each of them has a story to tell: that of the creator, that of the one who preserved it, and that of the person who will give it a new life.
