LORIN - Anatomy of time

Original painting by LORIN, part of an ongoing research on the human figure that emerges from tactile surfaces and color. Lorin's research focuses on the female figure as an emotional and symbolic space, where presence, identity, and perception meet.

Anatomy of Time arises from the idea that anatomy does not mean only the body, but also the act of observing something in its most profound structure, virtually separating its parts to understand how it works. Applied to time, it becomes almost a paradox: time has no body, we cannot see it or hold it, and yet it continually leaves traces of its existence in people, in memories, and in things.
In the painting, time is not represented by a clock, but by something much more human: a figure absorbed in reading a page, as if those words belonged to a moment different from the one in which they are read. The light from the window, the worn environment and the silence of the scene transform that simple gesture into an encounter between present and past.
