Afterglow explores the permanence of the experience beyond the instant it occurs. Inspired by the language of street art, the work builds a composition of fluid forms, translucent layers and spontaneous gestures that evoke the trail left by movement, by light and by memory. Instead of depicting a specific moment, it seeks to capture what remains when that moment has passed.
The chromatic intensity, dominated by reds, magentas and oranges, creates an atmosphere of latent energy, while the overlay of planes and transparencies dissolves the boundaries between figure and abstraction. Each layer reveals fragments of the previous one, suggesting that no experience exists in isolation; all of them accumulate, transforming perception and shaping the visual identity of the work.
The title, Afterglow, refers to the residual glow that persists after the light source has disappeared. This idea becomes a metaphor for the emotions, memories and encounters that continue to influence us long after they have ended. The painting invites the observer to slow down and traverse its multiple depths, discovering new relationships between color, gesture and space with each contemplation.
Between technical rigor and the expressive freedom of graffiti, Afterglow stands as a reflection on the persistence of creative energy. It is a work that does not aim to fix a single meaning, but rather to celebrate the beauty of continual transformations and the invisible marks that each experience leaves in us.
