"Dark and light"
This painting is a powerful meditation on the Sun as the original presence and vital energy.
The large red disc dominating the composition is intense, pulsating. It evokes warmth, passion but above all Rebirth. At its base a golden textured surface reflects its light, ennobling the whole. Meanwhile the dark upper field creates a clear light-shadow, presence-absence; just as day and night become symbols of the same experience.
The vertical lines interrupting the continuity of space seem to suggest shadows, windows, or fissures through which light manages to filter.
The essential geometric language thus appears rich in symbolic meanings.

Krystyna Chwiećko Stankiewicz, born 1969, self-taught visual artist, connoisseur of material, originally from Poland.
